COVID-19

The Uranium 2020 conference will be taking place as scheduled with no change to our cancellation policies at this time.

MetSoc-CIM is monitoring all activities surrounding this issue. We are in close contact with our Saskatchewan partners including the Tourism board and Marriott Hotels – keeping tabs on the evolution of the current situation.

The authorities stated above are closely monitoring the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization’s statements regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases and following guidelines from these agencies and the local health departments.

At this time the risk to Canadians remains low.
We will continue to monitor this situation closely, and will take direction from provincial and federal authorities as required. For the most up-to-date and reliable information, you can refer to the World Health Organization’s 2019-nCoV resource page and the provincial information of Saskatchewan on their website.

Delegates are also encouraged to follow proper hygiene etiquette while attending the event. The World Health Organization recommends that individuals:

  • Frequently clean hands by using alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water
  • When coughing and sneezing, cover mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue – throw the tissue away immediately and wash hands
  • Avoid close contact with anyone who has a fever and cough
